I recently went to California on a little surfing trip for work we took a few days off and shut down the office to go and have some fun time surfing and eating some good food. There’s nothing better than some fish tacos on the beach.
Surfing Isn’t As Easy As Eating Fish Tacos On The Beach
I quickly learned a lesson on this trip. I had stubbornly thought that since I had excelled previously at most kinds of board sports that I could easily pick up surfing having only got one chance at it once before this trip. I got up really quickly on a longboard and instantly thought that I should step up to a short board before mastering the technique needed for surfing. I learned this trip after getting beat around in the waves for a whole day with a short board that I really needed to take the time to learn the technique. I had no idea how to maneuver well with a long board and needed to learn before I stepped down to a little seven footer. My lesson was learned after I was getting beat around like a rag-doll.
If Southern Utah Had A Beach
Surfing is definitely a sport that I would like to get into more if only St. George had a beach. Working at Voxxy I probably will have the chance to surf a lot more with the bosses and on other trips. California beaches really are not that far away, I can head down with friends more often hopefully and learn to really pick it up. If you’re in California on some adventure, I would highly recommend getting to know the state and some other adventures such as hiking in Yosemite, that definitely was a incredible incredible trip for me.
